Day 24: Building Intimacy with Galaxy!

It's so easy to get so busy DOING with our horses that we forget to just BE with them!

But, as an ex-race horse, Galaxy deserves a chance to learn to just BE with a human- heart to heart.

So here, we build our intimacy with some quiet time, an excellent way to enjoy each other, but also a perfect experience to help Galaxy understand how to co-create a healing space with humans.

In the heart space, magic happens! Let's see how we created that space today so you can try it too!

Day 18: Galaxy Gets a Pasture Pal: See Who's Faster!

Most race horses are kept alone in stalls: a very alien environment for a herd animal! After a lot of preparation and over the fence introductions, today Galaxy gets to spend time in a wide open pasture with his first Herd Mate, 4 yo Jaren.





Although Jaren is another TB, he never raced. Who do you think is faster: Jaren or Galaxy? Let's find out!

Day 14: First Taste of Freedom!

As a racehorse Galaxy spent all day in his stall, exercising on the track, or on the hot walker...he never had free time to express himself in wide open spaces.

It's my deep pleasure to introduce him to the first open pasture he has had a chance to enjoy since he was just a baby!

Day 11 Part 2: Releasing Heart Armor

Remember a few days back when Glaxy told me he had a few walls around his heart that he'd want help dissolving?

Well, today was the day!

I think that it's curious timing: right after working on adding another layer of respect to our partnership- after I was willing to show leadership- he was ready to release his walls!

I guess it takes trust, respect, and love as foundations to ask someone for help releasing your wounds...let's tune in as the process of releasing Galaxy's Heart Armor takes place...




Very sweet and such an honor to serve this noble being...don't we all have some walls in our hearts! Horses can too...

Day 11: Ritual 4: Leading from Behind

Today we continue to add another layer of respect to all that sweetness we’ve built up with the next Waterhole Ritual from Carolyn Resnick.

Ritual 4, Leading from Behind, continues placing the human in the leadership role. Since horse leaders are the ones that push the other horses around, we’ll do the same…and I do mean literally push- that’s how horses create their hierarchy- whoever can push the other from behind moves up the herd ladder, so to be a leader in your horse’s eyes, you need to be able to ask him move his feet and he needs to be willing to say yes!

Then you can dance together, in safety and harmony.

Day 10: A Quantum Leap into Trust: Napping with Galaxy!

You know those special firsts with a new horse, the kind you’ll always remember?

Today was one of those days. Galaxy hasn’t been here very long at all, and he’s choosing to offer his greatest possible display of trust: inviting me to take a nap with him!

These quiet moments when twos hearts share space are my most precious of all!

Plus it’s showing just how far Galaxy is coming in understanding this new type of relationship we are offering to him- and to so quickly be offered that gift of trust? Priceless!

 

Doesn’t get much more beautiful than that!

Day 9: Adding Herd Leadership: Ritual 3- Taking Territory!

So far, we’ve been inviting Galaxy to change his worldview about Humans by building our bond with him and giving him new choices.  But as Carolyn Resnick states in her Waterhole Rituals DVD, “Familiarity breeds contempt.” 

Translation?  All love without leadership creates a dangerous mess!

So it’s time to add Herd Leadership into our relationship with Galaxy. Let’s see what his reaction is to Ritual 3: Taking Territory!

A Rainbow Blessing for Galaxy!

Will wonders ever cease?!

After giving Galaxy the Oneness Blessing, that very same evening, Galaxy was showered with his first Rainbow!

Rainbows are special signs of blessing here at the ranch! We're closely connected to the Rainbow energy, a spectrum of healing energies which represent all vibrations for healing and manifestation.

It's so strong around here that I call our ranch's location Rainbow Ridge because I've never seen so many rainbows before! In fact, we routinely have double rainbows in our backyard where I can actually see both ends!

And since the day we decided to make this place home, rainbows have showed up as special signs that "All is well and getting better!"

What's most interesting about this timing of Galaxy's first rainbow right after the Oneness Blessing is that this summer we've had the worst drought so we have not had ANY rainbows at all!

Till now. Thanks for Blessing Galaxy with your Rainbow energies of Love! All IS well!

Day 6: Sharing the Oneness Blessing with Horse!

Do we have any Reiki, Deeksha, or energy healing fans out there?

While I am already a Reiki Master, recently I got initiated to be a Oneness Blessing Giver. This is a form of energy healing from India whose goal is to help facilitate releasing of the ego-mind so we can bathe in the energy of Oneness!

Who doesn’t want more of that?! Especially in our relationship with Horse!

Let’s see Galaxy’s reaction to receiving the Oneness Blessing for the second time.

Day 5: A Whole New World! Giving Choices

Here’s a BIG, fat, thorny issue! Are horses beings with free will that should be given choices?! I think so!

It’s really easy to forget, when working around horses or any animal for that matter- that they really are not objects to be used as we see fit, but Beings filled with the Universal Source of Energy with their own free will! Which means they should get a say in as many things as possible.

Imagine a world where that was the case for all horses and animals!

Let’s see what happens as we continue to let Galaxy know that in his new home, he gets a choice!

It all comes back down to this choice that we get to make in every moment: Are we going to do TO our horses or are choosing to BE WITH our companions?!

Day 4: Ritual 2 Saying Hello!

Today, we’re ready to move on to Waterhole Ritual 2: Saying Hello. After Galaxy got used to Ritual 1: Sharing Territory, he was now willingly choosing to spend time with me. So it was time for the next step, entering his space by “saying hello.”

I love this step because it in essence says to the Horse, “I respect you so much that I am not even going to ENTER your space, without permission!”

Whoa! Can you imagine what that could mean to a race horse who is used to being DONE to all day long without a choice in any of it!?

Working well with Saying Hello requires paying attention to the Horse’s energy bubble and his tiny acknowledgements and permissions to you…let’s see what happens when I approach Galaxy and give him a new option: Choice!

It’s such a blessing with we give horses the freedom to choose and they choose to be in relationship, huh?!

Settling in with the Waterhole Rituals!

Transitioning a TB from the track to a new life, takes patience, heart, and skill...but most importantly, it takes relationship building!

Surprising Story of the Hidden Healer's New Name!

What's in a name? Some say everything!

Whenever we add a family member to the Happily Ever After Healing Horse Herd, we like to christen them with a brand spanking new name that above all, feels great to say, because it means something uplifting. And more importantly, we choose a name that expresses something important about the horse.

So when it came time to name the 2012 Hidden Healer, I sat with him under the stars and asked him to show me who he was....this was his surprising answer!

And so Precepts Ten, called Blackie at the track, became Galaxy.

And as if to affirm my choice of name, I got a very intriguing confirmation only a few days later when a friend invited me to watch the movie Black Whole.

A Galaxy Horse!

We both expected it to be about space and you guessed it, Black Holes (which I really wasn't even interested in!)...but it was about so much more than that! In fact, it was one of the most mind-boggling, awe-inspiring documentaries I have ever seen in my whole life!

It told the story of how astrophysicist Nassim Haramein essentially sovled the biggest physics puzzle, by creating what in essence is the Unified Field Theory- which basically explains the whole nature of Consciousness, how we can all be connected, and how we are all One.

And of course, he does this partially through explaining the true nature of GALAXIES. Well, suffice it to say, due to the many coincidences, I was pretty sure this movie was the serendipitous answer to my question posed in the video: "What is a Galaxy Horse? What gifts will Galaxy offer us?"

And the answer was quite a stunner indeed! Nothing short of understanding the true nature of the Universe and how we can all experience Oneness!!!

If any of THAT is a taste of what is in store as we get to know the horse Galaxy and he begins sharing his heart-ful gifts, we are in for a wild, star-filled, uplifting ride after all!!! Hang onto your reins, we're taking flight into the biggest mysteries of all! Your soul!

And as a last interesting coincidence, when I searched for an image of a galaxy horse (hoping that some creative artist captured the image I saw in my head when Galaxy showed me who he was! which I didn't find!) what I did find was a fascinating object that looks like a horse's head which is called the Horse Head Nebula and it is located in Orion's belt (which fascinatingly enough was the only constellation mentioned in the movie and was also the only other name I was considering for Galaxy because it too kept popping into my head).

So perhaps there is an Orion connection for our Galaxy as well!

The Hidden Healer's Last Day at the Track 2012

Galaxy got to come home the day after his last race. Check out his final day at the track and his introduction to his new home at the Happily Ever After Holistic Healing Horse Ranch outside of Denver, CO!




Here's a little bit more information on Galaxy's race career.  Previously known as Precepts Ten, he was born in Arkansas in 2007.

He started racing as a 2 yo and had 23 starts as a race horse, coming in 1st once, 2nd three times, and 3rd five times. In his 5 years, he had 7 owners and he raced in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, New Mexico, and Colorado. His earnings were over $23,000.

With all of that moving around it's amazing that his heart was still open for connection!

Was it Destiny? Meet the 2012 Hidden Healer: Galaxy!

When we began looking for a horse to focus this project on, we formed a heart intention to draw toward us a powerful healer with an inspiring story that would uplift others.

For 3 months, we looked and looked for the horse who was to become the Hidden Healer, meeting over 30 horses in the process, always keeping our heart open to the "knowing" who was The One...not unlike online dating BTW (I'm also a dating coach!)

In the end, destiny brought us together with a 5 year-old, 17 hand, dark bay TB race horse who was listed as Precepts Ten, on the newly formed Colorado chapter of CANTER- an organization who helps find homes for retiring racers.

There was only one snag...after I made the heart connection with this horse, and literally had trouble tearing my eyes from his magestic being, his trainer and owners changed their mind about his availablity, deciding they wanted to race him till the end of the meet, still four weeks away...

Undaunted, I was patient and once a week I'd go to the backside of the track and spend an hour of quality time hanging with him. He was always willing to connect with me and spent all of our time following me around or tuned into me. Wherever I stood or sat, he chose to be with me, occasionally putting his head in my lap, somewhat unexpected behavior from a track horse, many of whom are cranky or aloof.

Yet, as that final race day approached, the owners had a renewed interest in taking him down to the next race meet in New Mexico, depending on how he ran...so it was all coming down to one last race...did this horse want to be a race horse or a healer?

As I watched the horses being led into the starting gate, I stood close by at the rail. When Precepts Ten, Blackie as he was known then, entered his gate, I called out to him, "Blackie!"

What happened next, I'll never forget. Even in all the hub-bub, he actually turned his head and looked right at me. A final reminder perhaps, that this was his choice. What was it going to be?

As the horses left the gate, tears sprung to my eyes and Blackie shot out into third place....

Welcome to the Hidden Healer Project 2012-2013!!!

As a psychologist and equine-inspired healing coach, I, like many others, have discovered that horses are amazing healers capable of helping us transform our deepest wounds and call forth our greatest selves!

I'm always surprised, although by now I shouldn't be!, that I can walk into any plain old boarding barn, show arena, or backyard pasture and discover there a Hidden Healer- a horse who will offer to partner with me to help me shift into my Best Self.

All over the world, there are similar horses, awaiting the opportunity to be seen for who they really are- Healers capable of transforming the Human Heart!

In fact, the Horses have shown me a vision for a world where ALL ARE SEEN FOR WHO THEY REALLY ARE! And even more, where EVERY BEING, of all sizes, shapes, and body types- can be appreciated for the gifts they bring through their very essence. 

Imagine that world! Yummy!

The Horses are now asking us to co-create this vision into a reality!  Will you join in?

To move toward this vision of a soul to soul, heart to heart world, where Horses can be seen for who they are, where interested horses are offered the opportunity to partner with humans on a level where healing takes place naturally- we are doing a year-long prject called The Hidden Healer.

By sharing the journey of one such previously hidden horse, we hope to raise awareness that many horses are healers in an equine body simply waiting for you to discover what they wish to offer YOU.

And by partnering with a retiring Thoroughbred racehorse, we hope to highlight that these Hidden Healers can be found everywhere, all around us, even in the most unlikely places, when you open your heart to SEE.

So join us for an exciting adventure as we share the journey of one race horse from the end of his racing career as he transitions into a new life as a Healing Horse at the Happily Ever After Holistic Healing Horse Ranch, outside of Denver, CO!
